A lovely boardwalk with lots of interesting art, shops and restaurants. Very safe. Good to do day trips to the beaches only accessible by boat. Sea is quite rough and not many people were swimming. Staying in Zona Romantica is a lovely area if you like night life. Make sure you walk to the Malecon as the historic town area is beautiful. If you're vegan/vegetarian, PV has so many lovely restaurants and you will have a great time eating at them all! The gay population is too much for us. It’s one thing for there to be one, but when they parade around in almost no clothes at all and revealing speedos, it’s too much. You should definitely use an UBER when getting around. Look for the churro street vender on Peru street. They have been on that corner for four generations. ElDorado is a great restaurant. You should get a table on the beach and watch the sunset while eating great dinner. Lots to do and see. It's a busy place. Mar y Vino Restaurante was a neat experience but it was $$$$$$$. Really expensive. Restaurante Panorama was wonderful. Have the chateaubriand, it was perfect. $$$$ but worth it. Important tip - Mixologists in Puerto Vallarta are not the caliber of the ones in Cancun.Guest review byJULIECanada
